MOVIN, an AI-powered motion capture company specializing in real-time 3D human motion data, has secured approximately $7.5 million in Series A funding, bringing its total capital raised to more than $10 million.

The round was led by IMM Investment, with participation from IBK Industrial Bank of Korea and Voyager Ventures. Existing investors Atinum Investment, NAVER D2SF, and Schmidt also made follow-on investments.

MOVIN plans to use the funding to expand its global business and advance its motion data technology, including applications in physical AI. Its plans also include a motion capture R&D center spanning more than 3,500 square feet in South Korea.

Founded in 2023, MOVIN develops motion capture technology that transforms human movement into precise, production-ready 3D data. Its flagship system, MOVIN TRACIN, combines LiDAR sensing, camera vision, and proprietary on-device AI to capture full-body movement in real time without wearable suits, markers, or dedicated studio infrastructure. The technology enables motion data to be captured and processed across a wide range of real-world environments, supporting applications from animation and live production to robotics.

MOVIN has translated this technology into a growing commercial business, generating approximately $750,000 in revenue within a year of its flagship product launch. The company has sold more than 200 units across over 20 countries, with international sales accounting for approximately 70% of revenue and North America representing its largest market.

Building on its core technology, MOVIN is developing industry-specific solutions to address evolving market needs. Its motion capture technology has been used by Boston Dynamics and the RAI Institute for robot teleoperation and training, while its robotics-focused MOVIN TRACIN Lite is being used by partners to collect human motion data for robot learning. MOVIN was also selected as the only South Korean Launching Adoption Partner for NVIDIA SOMA, integrating its technology to support robot learning with real-world human motion data.

In live entertainment, MOVIN introduced MOVIN TRACIN Stage at the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas, demonstrating real-time multi-person tracking and integrations with Disguise and Notch. The company is also exploring opportunities in sports, rehabilitation, and other industries that rely on human motion data.

The new capital will also support advances in on-device multimodal AI and motion capture systems ranging from lightweight devices to large-scale, multi-person tracking. The planned R&D center will focus on collecting real-world multimodal datasets for world-model development and advancing MOVIN's AI and motion data processing technologies.

“MOVIN has done something that many deep-tech companies struggle to achieve: turn complex technology into a commercial product with international demand,” said Hongchan Kim, Managing Director at IMM Investment. “What stood out to us was how broadly that technology can be applied, from entertainment to robotics, and the potential to build a much larger business on a global scale.”

“Human movement is becoming an increasingly important source of data, not just for entertainment but for how AI systems learn to interact with the physical world,” said Byeoli Choi, CEO of MOVIN. “We've built a commercial foundation around making motion capture more accessible. Now we're investing in the technology and infrastructure to bring that capability to more industries and applications.”
